The Kentucky Chapter of the Percussive Arts Society held its annual Day of Percussion on March 1, 2014 on the campus of the University of Kentucky. The day included clinics and concerts featuring nationally renowned clinicians as well as students in the Commonwealth.

Clinics featured Lalo Davila (Middle Tennessee State University) on Brazilian percussion, Patrick Schleker (Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra) on timpani, and Michael Gould (University of Michigan) on drumset.

Showcase performances included the Brad Dutz/Chris Wabish Percussion Duo accompanied by the Morehead State University Percussion Ensemble under the direction of Dr. Brian Mason, and a collegiate showcase featuring students from across the Commonwealth. The event was highlighted by the inaugural performance of the KMEA All-State Percussion Ensemble under the direction of Lalo Davila.

Officers for the chapter include Dr. Brian Mason, President/Treasurer; Dr. Chad Floyd, Vice President; David Ratliff, Secretary; James Corcoran, Eastern Representative; Brady Harrison, Northern Representative; Rick Gardner, Western Representative; Dr. Greg Byrne, Mobile Percussion Coordinator.

The 2014 KMEA/KYPAS All-State Percussion Ensemble was featured at the 2014 Day of Percussion. The Ensemble was conducted by Lalo Davila.
